Frank Aldous was born at 7 Plymouth Avenue, Chorlton upon Medlock, Manchester, on 1st February 1891. Frank was Alice Ann and Fred’s fourth child and their second son.

Frank was fun-loving. Frank started working for Fred Aldous Ltd. in 1906 when he was fifteen. He served in World War I.

In 1913, when he was about twenty-one, Frank wrote a postcard addressed to his brother:

When he was thirty-two, Frank married Doris Moorhouse on 16th January 1924 at Union Chapel, Chorlton.

Doris was the daughter of George Edward Moorhouse, who was a travelling milliner, and Mary Crawshaw, who was a dressmaker. Doris had two younger brothers, Norman and Reginal. Her father was in the Army during the First World War. Her parents were married for twenty years before George died in 1920, when Doris was eighteen.

TWO CHILDREN

On 3rd September 1925, Frank and Doris had identical twin boys, Peter and Geoffrey.

Frank became sick and died at age 36, on 31st December 1927 in Sherwood Dean Row, Winslow. His sons were only two years old. Doris and Frank had been married for nearly three years.

Doris died on 14th May 1995 at The Limes Nursing Home in Didsbury, Manchester.
